I recently moved to the Springfield area and I'm looking to get more involved in local community groups to meet people and contribute, but I'm having a hard time finding active organizations beyond the general listings on the town website. I'm particularly interested in environmental cleanup initiatives or community gardening projects. For long-time residents, what are some of the most active and welcoming local groups you'd recommend for a newcomer wanting to volunteer regularly and connect with neighbors who care about local sustainability efforts?
