Full Version: What oil change interval is right for a 2020 sedan with city driving?

I drive a 2020 sedan mostly on short city trips, and I'm confused about the right oil change interval. The manual suggests every 10,000 miles or once a year, but the quick-lube place sticker always says 3,000 miles, and friends with similar cars swear by 5,000. With my driving habits, what's a realistic and safe interval to follow to maintain engine health without wasting money on unnecessary changes, and does using synthetic oil really make that big of a difference for mostly stop-and-go driving?
