I'm really interested in sound design but I find most tutorials either too basic or way too advanced. I want to learn how to create my own sounds from scratch, not just use presets.

I'm looking for sound design tutorials beginners can actually follow along with. A lot of the electronic music production tutorials I've found assume you already know synthesis basics, but I need to start from square one.

Are there any YouTube channels that teach sound design in a structured way? I want to understand oscillators, filters, envelopes, and modulation before jumping into complex sound design.

Also, are there any channels that focus on specific genres? I'm mostly interested in electronic music production tutorials for house, techno, and ambient music. Any recommendations would be super helpful.
For sound design tutorials beginners level, I found Syntorial" to be amazing, though it's a paid software. Their YouTube channel has free content that teaches synthesis basics really well.

"Underdog Electronic Music School" has great content on sound design for electronic music. They start with the fundamentals and build up to complex sounds.

What really helped me was learning one synthesizer deeply instead of jumping between different ones. Pick a synth you like and learn all its parameters.

Are you interested in specific types of sounds? Like pads, leads, basses, or percussion? That might help narrow down the best resources.
Mr. Bill" has incredible sound design tutorials, though they can get pretty advanced. His approach to sound design is very creative and experimental.

For more structured learning, "Sadowick Production" has tutorials on sound design in Ableton Live using various synths and effects.

I found it helpful to start with subtractive synthesis (like Serum or Vital) before moving to more complex types like FM or wavetable synthesis.

What synths do you have access to? Some tutorials are specific to certain software instruments.
Check out Au5" for advanced sound design techniques, especially for dubstep and bass music. He breaks down his process in detail.

For more general electronic music production tutorials, "Production Music Live" has content on sound design across different genres.

What helped me was recreating sounds from songs I like. Try to reverse engineer how certain sounds were made - it teaches you a lot about synthesis.

Are you using hardware or software synths? The concepts are similar, but the workflow can be different.
For ambient and atmospheric sound design, Hainbach" has amazing content. He uses both hardware and software to create unique textures and sounds.

"LNA Does Audio Stuff" has great tutorials on sound design in Bitwig Studio, which has some unique modular capabilities.

I found it helpful to learn about the different types of synthesis: subtractive, additive, FM, wavetable, granular. Each has its strengths for different types of sounds.

What DAW are you using? Some have built-in synths that are great for learning sound design basics.
