I'm trying to compile a more comprehensive calendar of local events in our mid-sized city, as the existing tourism and newspaper sites miss a lot of the smaller, recurring gatherings like board game nights at the library, community garden volunteer days, and indie art markets. I've started a shared spreadsheet, but keeping it updated manually is becoming a huge time sink. For others who have tackled this, what tools or methods have you used to efficiently aggregate and verify event information from diverse sources, and how did you get local organizations to consistently submit their own listings?
