I'm trying to decide whether to keep both my Netflix and Disney+ subscriptions or drop one to save some money, as I feel like I'm not using either service to its full potential lately. My viewing habits are a mix of binge-watching new series, catching up on popular movies, and occasionally digging into older classics or documentaries. For others who have compared the two, how do Netflix vs Disney+ really stack up in terms of consistent quality of original content, depth of their back catalogs for re-watching, and the overall user experience like recommendation algorithms and video quality? I'm leaning towards keeping the one with more variety that isn't just focused on a single brand or demographic.
From my own binge-watching, Netflix tends to offer a broader mix—it's not just 'newest hits' but a lot of international drama, docuseries, stand-up, and indie films. Disney+ nails the family-friendly franchises (Star Wars, Marvel, Pixar) and has incredibly polished originals, but the overall catalog is smaller and feels more branded. If you're looking for variety that isn't tied to a single brand, Netflix generally wins on that front. Still, Disney+'s catalog has grown with Star and more third-party titles in some regions, so it can be a good secondary option if you want the brand appeal with a few serious films.
